Your role
The rolling internship offers the successful candidate the opportunity to gain an insight into all aspects of a leading international development consultancy. From assisting in day-to-day project administration and business development to providing general backstopping support to our staff and consultancy teams, the candidate will be expected to immerse themselves in all aspects of the business and learn quickly. Depending on previous experience and skills of the successful candidate, core tasks will involve undertaking in-depth research for assignments and supporting our consultants working on projects around the globe. Candidates will also be required to provide assistance supporting and maintaining our in-house systems as well as supporting the project management team in their day-to-day running of the business.
Business development represents a core and vital aspect of any successful consultancy and interns will be expected to assist in proposal/bid writing for ongoing procurement opportunities.
Candidate profile
Saana looks for meticulous and thorough individuals, who are goal driven and possess a keen interest in international development and management consultancy. Successful candidates must be quick to learn, adaptable and able to multi-task effectively. Many of the tasks will require the ability to meet strict time-deadlines, as well as an innovative, and intuitive way of thinking. Candidates should be comfortable working without supervision and be able to quickly resolve problems as and when they may arise.

Skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Economics, International Studies, Business Administration or other relevant degree
- Experience working in a fast moving, technical demanding work environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Persistence, drive and ability to work unsupervised
- High level of tenacity and creativity
- Proven track record at meeting measureable goals
- Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadline
- Ability to multitask and prioritize, even under pressure
- Second languages would be beneficial but not essential
