Background
Tanzanian Civil Society Forum on Climate Change (ForumCC) is an association of civil
society organizations committed to work on climate change in their own programmes as
well as through advocacy. It links up local environment and climate change organizations
across a range of sectors. It was initiated in October 2008 and formally registered in early
2013. The purpose of the forum is to ensure effective and informed engagement of Civil
Society Organizations in Tanzania on Climate Change issues for the benefit of the
environment and people in poverty who are affected. The role is to work with and
strengthen members, both in strengthening their work on the ground and their influence in
advocacy.

Forumcc is currently looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable Finance cum
Administration Programme Officer to enhance the impact of our work.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the financial operations of the organization and ensure timely and accurate
financial reports and practices including cash management, payroll, financial
disbursements, ledgers etc.
Responsible for entering financial information and maintaining all financial records for
projects and for the organization.
Preparing and maintaining donor agreements and staff contracts, timesheets. Manage financial control, prepare and analyze budgets, develop financial reports, and
make recommendations to the organization on budget expenditures.
Obtain approvals from the Programme Manager and from the donors on all
procurements and purchases for the projects and for the organization.
Monitor the expenditures to ensure that program funds are utilized appropriately by
the close of the fiscal year.
Provide orientation and training to the organization staff on cost-effective
management.
Ensure that all financial reporting is completed on time and submitted to donors.
Oversee the financial audits of all projects of the organization.
Provide financial inputs for proposal development, project management, Human
Resource Management policies, logistics, travel and other areas of administration.
Develop/institutionalize strong internal control mechanism (financial and
administrative systems) in compliance with accepted policies and procedures for the
organization.
Carrying out frequent data backups and manage inventory and fixed assets records.
Oversee compliance of all obligations (e.g. returns for government departments and
that all necessary agreements, contracts, permits and licenses necessary for ForumCC’s
operations are in place).
Ensure that archives are in use and maintained according to the ForumCC’s
regulations.
Qualification and Experiences
Advance University Degree in Accounting or Finance and minimum 3 years in
similar positions most preferably with NGOs.
Computer proficiency and accounting packages preferably QuickBooksApplication:
