Examples of the types of knowledge and learning interventions HANSHEP is interested in supporting include:
Knowledge creation initiatives e.g research projects, feasibility studies that fill priority knowledge gaps of stakeholders in developing countries and that can inform the work of others in similar contexts
Knowledge sharing initiatives e.g. Workshops, communities of practice, online tools that enhance cross-agency learning (particularly between HANSHEP member in-country staff)
Knowledge synthesising initiatives e.g. building the capacity of intermediary / umbrella institutions to aggregate the data and interests of fragmented stakeholders to enhance dialogue and cross-sectoral collaboration
HANSHEP has already allocated funding to implement a range of these initiatives in developing countries between 2013-2015, focusing initially on India, Nigeria and Rwanda (which are currently represented within the HANSHEP membership). A number of draft proposals have already been generated and HANSHEP is now seeking an experienced team of knowledge and learning specialists to take this important work forward.
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a unique collaboration of leading international development agencies, country governments and non-state actors to deliver high-priority knowledge and learning interventions that will contribute to better health outcomes for the poor in developing countries. Subject to review and approval by HANSHEP members, the initial 6-month contract and TOR will be extended into 2014 and potentially 2015.
