Our client BMR Freight Forwarders Co LTD is a logistics company and is seeking to recruit a result driven individual for the vacancy above for its Rwanda office;
Job Objective:
This post will report directly to the Managing Director responsible for formulating and implementing sound growth strategies that will maintain strategic customer relations and ensure growth. This position will be located in Kigali, Rwanda and require up to 40% domestic travel. Candidate may also have the opportunity to travel to other markets in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Business development to identify new industry and client opportunities and manage portfolio plans for focus, detailing new business opportunities and priorities.
- Stimulating innovation and consumer focus throughout the operation’s.
- Responsible for continuously improving cross functional cooperation and communication.
- Monitoring performance, highliting gaps and providing direction to the team on day to day basis.
- Management of customer service expenses in the company.
- Plan, manage and conduct team trainings.
- Participate in formulating the client solutions.
- Build and maintain long term relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and priorities.
- Monitor team budget and ensure proper use of resources.
- Analyze monthly KPI scorecard for team and identify root causes of service failures to drive the continuous improvement. In case of gaps in performance, identify action plans to address these satisfactorily.
- Keep apprised of developments in the logistics industry and make recommendations to management to improve efficiency/effectiveness.
Qualification and Skills:
- A Bachelors degree in related field of experience.
- A minimum of five years experience in a challenging working environment ideally in business development or customer management with foreign exposure.
- Strong leadership & management experience with planning, presentation and organizational skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills in English with French as an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Experience in managing a team’s in achieving and exceeding stated objectives.
- Understanding of the logistics business environment is desired, but not required.
