We are looking for an experienced Finance Superintendent to join our team at Lumwana to coordinate the production and training activities of the Finance department. This position reports to the Business Services Manager.
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The below is an indication of duties performed but is not limited to:
- Liaison between site finance Team, SBC, and Corporate Accounting.
- Address any business or administration-related initiatives or issues that may arise.
- Review and analyze monthly financial reports to identify potential cost control issues.
- Assist in the control over the maintenance of costs by mining, processing, and G & A departments.
- Compile the monthly variance analysis of the operations
- Review and Assist in the AFE preparation for capital expenditures.
- Resolve disputed project charges.
- Review and Assist with development of yearly budget and monthly forecast.
- Interact with relevant department managers in the review of their cost reports & actual expenditures versus budgeted and forecasts.
- Assist department and project managers with weekly, monthly and annual operations reports.
- Attend assigned departmental meetings.
- Implement metrics and monitor results for areas of responsibilities and employees to track progress towards company and departmental goals.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 10 years of equivalent combination of education & experience in financial modelling, cost control and economic analysis, or similar.
- Previous mine site finance / accounting experience required
- Strong leadership and management presentation skills
- Demonstrated people management experience
- Ability to work with internal & external partners and experience with continuous improvement programs.
- Must have strong in computer and excel skills
- Experience with a Western based publically traded based company is required
- Must have experience with a computer-based accounting system (Pronto Preferred.)
- Ability to speak, read and write English required.
