Workplace Banking Relationship Manager (SBG 11)

This is a managerial position reporting to the Head, Workplace Banking. The successful candidate will work with the Head, Workplace Banking in fulfilling the set annual sales target as outlined in the business plan. Signing up of scheme companies within the identified market opportunity especially within multi-national companies and government parastatals. Proactively growing/penetrating the existing Workplace Banking market. Develop key relationships with decision makers and key opinion leaderships within the scheme portfolio. Product presentation to signed up companies during on site activation in order to increase sales.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Ensuring a good stable relationship with Workplace Banking scheme key people by providing quality service and by maintaining high visibility in an attempt to secure new business for the local sales area
  • Implementing new Workplace Banking schemes by presenting retail products to employees at company site points via group presentations, setting up bank days and or on site sales desks within agreed timeframes
  • Growing existing scheme book balances through regular interaction with scheme key people and the sales team
  • Identifying cross selling opportunities for the sales team.
  • Monitoring the sales performance of the allocated teams to the scheme portfolio and recommend changes (if any)
  • Ensuring that the mobile sales team and Sales Manager are informed at all times of any changes affecting companies under the Relationship Manager.
  • Conducting a needs analysis to identify customer needs effectively when opening new accounts or giving product advice, in line with the bank’s requirements.
  • Ensuring that all signed companies have an allocated limit and dully signed check-off agreements.

Requirement:

Ideal candidate profile:
  • University degree holder preferably in Marketing and Finance
  • 2-4 years banking experience, with exposure to sales in the affinity market
  • Proven sales track record in the financial services sector
  • Strong selling skills and strong financial acumen to manage the overall profitability of the unit
  • Knowledge and understanding of market segmentation value propositions and customer profiles per micro market
  • Knowledge of sales and service delivery benchmarks and standards
  • Knowledge of banking regulations
  • Knowledge of local competition, distribution channels and product offerings
  • Demonstrate high level of integrity, work ethics and a positive attitude
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Proven people management ability.
