Electrical Technician

Position Description:

He will be reporting to Senior Administrative Officer, his basic function is to undertake maintenance of electrical equipment in the Authority

Duties and responsibilities,

To undertake minor electrical works repairs and other facilities

To conduct regular inspections of the electrical facilities in Aviation and JNIA buildings

To determine maintenance or repairs required;

To assist in preparation of estimates for engineering projects; To prepare maintenance schedules;

To advise on preventive maintenance and repairs;

To check fuel and oil in the Authority generator and ensure that they are of the required amount and take corrective action when necessary

To maintain log book for generator service schedules

To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

Holder of FTC in Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institution or equivalent qualifications

Minimum working Experience

Should have a working experience of not less than 3 years in the relevant

Must be computer literate.

Salary: Within Salary grade of TCAA. S .3

Driver (2 Posts)

Position Description:

He will be reporting to Civil Aviation Manager KIA, his basic function is to drive vehicles, transporting staff, guests and goods.

Duties and responsibilities

To drive staff and other passengers to destinations as directed by supervisor

To ensure that the vehicle's tyres are of the required standards and the tool box is available.

To check fuel, engine oil brake fluid and water that they are of the required amount and take corrective actions where necessary

To ensure the vehicle is clean and neat at all times in order to maintain a good image of the Authority.

To maintain a logbook for all trips made by and ensure other users do the same.

To inform supervisor when there is need for a scheduled maintenance.

To undertake minor repairs and services to ensure that the car remains in a good working condition and report any problems to the supervisor.

To ensure that motor vehicle is properly safeguarded from theft, fire and any other risk and that parking premises are safe.

To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum qualifications:

Ordinary level secondary school education certificate, class "C" driving license

With a clean driving record, trade test III or CBET.

Minimum Working experience Three (3) years experience.

Salary: Within salary grade of TCAA S .3.

Office Assistant (3 Posts)

Position Description:

He will be reporting to Civil Aviation Manager KIA Senior Administrative Officer, his basic function is to undertake maintenance of electrical equipment in the Authority

Duties and responsibilities

Possession of a Secondary School Education Certificate with passes in Kiswahili and English language.

To assist in distribution and collection of files and other documents as well as dispatching letters to various offices in and outside the Authority

To assist in organizing for pre-meeting arrangements when needed

To distribute mail internally to respective staff

To duplicate documents, such as circulars and other publications

To circulate files and documents internally to respective staff

To receive external mail and ensure it is noted in the register.

To prepare and serve refreshments during in house meetings and workshops

To develop individual objectives/targets and performance standards as part of the individual performance agreement in consultation with the immediate superior. .

To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

Ordinary level secondary school education certificate with passes in English and Kiswahili languages

Minimum Working experience

One (1) year experience in a related function

Chief, Aeronautical Airport Services

Position Description:

Reporting to the Director, Economic Regulation. He will be responsible for monitoring and evaluation of the Industry and provide technical advice to the Director and ensure that aeronautical airport services are provided in smooth, orderly and competitive manner.

Duties and responsibilities:

Review licensing applications, and other documents submitted for licensing as required by regulations and advise the Director accordingly.

Ensure that service providers operate in accordance with ICAO principles in setting user charges, operate in a transparent manner and consult stakeholders.

Advise the Director on policies and regulations regarding aeronautical airport services.

Conduct relevant studies and maintain an accurate data base for operators providing aeronautical airport services. Conduct inspections and ensure that all licensing conditions and regulatory requirements are met.

Monitor the performance of operators with a view to ensuring they operate efficiently and competitively,

Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance or Engineering

MBA Degree will be an added advantage

Minimum Working Experience

Eight years experience, 4 years must be in a managerial position.

Salary: Within Salary grade of TCAA S 10.

Senior Air Transport Regulation Officer

Position Description:

Reporting to the Chief Air Transport Regulation Officer

Senior Air Transport Regulation 0fficer r is responsible to insure that all air transport and ground handling operators comply with regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

To assist in overseeing enforcement of regulations for provisions of air and ground handling services

To assist in the implementation of air transport policies

To assist in monitoring the performance of the industry

To assist in managing the implementation of bilateral Air Service agreements

To assist in responding to complaints by operators and customers

To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor degree in Economics/ Business Administration/ Air Transport

Minimum working Experience

At least 5 years experience in a related field

Salary: Within Salary grade of TCAA. S.8

Flight Operations Inspectors (2 Posts)

Position Description:

Reporting to the Principal Flight Operations Inspector, the main function of the post is to monitor and enforce compliance of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Regulations

Duties and Responsibilities

To Inspect air operators and approved training organizations (ATO) for renewal/issue of AOC and ATO certificates

To carry out operations ad-hoc base inspections, flight operations, ramp surveillance inspection of operations and operations aerodrome facilities.

To observe operators proficiency checks and general flying To inspect and approve aircraft flight simulators

To evaluate flight crew technical knowledge qualifications, crew documents for issuance of licenses

To evaluate operational documents for issuance of certificates or licenses

To conduct skill tests for flight drew initial/renewal/recency for aircraft type and instrument rating Assist in review and promulgation of civil aviation regulations and guidance materials

To carry out awareness to the aviation industry in the country by conducting interactive seminars (flight ops) and dissemination of relevant guidance materials

To review prepare and conduct flight, cabin and flight operations officers crew examinations

To participate in conducting air accident and incident investigations

To issue safety guidance programmes to operators as necessary

To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

An airline transport pilot license (ATPL) with a flying experience of at least 5000 flight hours as a pilot in command

Minimum working Experience:

3 (three) years experience in the capacity of a Flight Operations Inspector will be an added advantage

Principal Aerodrome Inspector

Position Description:

Reporting to the Chief Air Navigation Aerodrome Inspector Principal Aerodrome Inspector is responsible to carry out efficient and effective safety oversight activities in construction and operation of aerodromes with the objective of enhancing safe operation of aircraft in compliance with national and international standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

To recommend for assurance of license or certificate to aerodromes and conduct continuous surveillance of aerodrome

To participate in review and develop aerodrome operators' requirement and regulations

To assist in preparation of procedures manual for various procedures in the section and continuously review them for the purpose of updating

To advise and recommend in the construction of aerodromes and location of navigational aids and construction

To conduct safety assessment and oversight of ground handling services and facilities. To approves training inspections and persons providing AGA training

To enforce AGA regulatory compliance

To record and report on published aerodrome operations activities

To participate in aircraft accidents and incidents

To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

B.Sc in civil or structural engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

Possession of Professional Engineer's Registration from Engineers Registration Board of Tanzania

Experience in pavements will be an added advantage

Attendance of ICAO aerodrome certification course will be an added advantage.

Minimum Working Experience

At least 6 years as a practicing civil or structural engineering.

Salary: Within salary grade of TCAA S.9.

Chief Personnel Licensing Officer

Position Description:

Reporting to the Director Safety Regulation, the main function of the post is to manage the licensing section and ensure that processing of applications for aviation personnel licensing and other legal documents is done.

Duties and Responsibilities

To manage Personnel licensing Section

To establish and maintain effective personnel licensing procedures and industry technical capacity building

To develop and review personnel licensing requirements and Air Navigation Regulations

To assist and amend personnel licensing proposed legislation/ regulatory amendments and ensure that amendments made do not conflict with each other or other requirements.

To keep records and prepare reports on published personnel licensing activities

To make inquiries on verification of foreign licenses for conversation or validations

To recommend initiation of possible violations of legislation and regulation with respect to personnel licensing as per set procedures and initiate legal or other corrective actions in conjunctions with corporation secretary's office.

To carry out the assessment and approval of application for licenses, rating, certificates and validations and maintain liaison with airworthiness, flight operations and air traffic management, aviation security in the licensing of different cadres in civil aviation.

To validate foreign license

To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Science and possession of either a commercial pilot license or Air Traffic control license with at least four ratings or aircraft maintenance engineer's license with two categories.

Minimum working experience

8(eight) years experience in the relevant aviation field

Salary:Within Salary grade of TCAA. G 11
