Job Objective
Assistant Medical officer Radiologist is a member of the Mwananyamala Hospital Health Management team (HMT) of the MOHSW to assist the
Mwananyamala hospital in the implementation ofTB diagnostic at the Centers of Excellence (COE), with the aim to increase TB case detection among the pediatric population.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and revise patient flow in the radiology department to fast track suspected pulmonary TB cases within the Mwananyamala hospital management.
Work closely with Mwananyamala Hospital health management team (HMT) to perform chest X-ray forTB diagnosis and any other X-ray as
requested and ensure timely films processing for TB suspects from the COE and other satellite sites
Ensure timely report on the Chest X-ray result, proper documentation and regular data reporting.
Discuss complex and/or ambiguous cases with senior expert radiologist for second opinion
Ensure that the x-ray machine SOP is readily available and is followed by all radiographers.
Also ensure that the preventive maintenance is followed according to the manufacturer
Fast track the curative maintenance of the X-ray machine by communicating the responsible body in time of machine breakdown~
Develop systems to ensure the security of radiology department equipments in collaboration with hospital management and radiology department.
Report any issues compromising the radiology service to the Mwananyamala hospital management and the ICAP CTT Director
Participate to the regular in-hospital discussions around complex pediatric clinical cases
Perform other duties that are relevant to his/her expertise as requested by the Mwananyamala hospital management and ICAP CTT Director
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The candidate must hold advanced diploma course in DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY for qualified Assistant Medical Officers from a recognized Medical Institution.
Minimum 3 years working experience in radiology
Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills
Ability to work long hours and meet deadlines
Ability to work under minimal supervision
