Dar es Salaam, 100% time at Mwananyamala Hospital
Contract Duration:One (1) year, with a possibility of renewal depending on the availability of funds Job Objective
Pediatric TB assistant / nurse is a member of the National TB and Leprosy Program (NTLP) country office of the MOHSW to assist the MOHSW in the implementation of the national plan to develop Pediatric TB Centers of Excellence (CO E) in the target area(s), with the aim to increase TB case detection among the pediatric population.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with NTLP MOHSW office team to implement the national Pediatric TB guidelines at the COE
Participate in the Pediatric TBHIV technical working group meetings and follow up on action items accordingly organize regular supportive supervision visits in collaboration with CHMT and NTLP and actively participate in the visits Strengthen linkages within health services and facilities in order to increase pediatric TB/HIV case detection
Establish strong collaboration with NGOs and local partners to maximize coordination
Develop a patient flow scheme at the COE and monitor the execution in collaboration with the other COE staff and Mwananyamala hospital staff
Establish a multi disciplinary committee at the COE and ensure that regular meeting conducted and action items followed/executed Develop regular work plans and reports
Any other duties related to pediatric TB/HIV as assigned by supervisor(s).
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The candidate must be a Registered Nurse with valid license in Tanzania holding Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Nursing from a recognized nursing institution
Minimum 3 years experience with tuberculosis and pediatric care Minimum 3 years experience in public health programs
Excellent oral and written communication skills in both language Swahili and English Ability to supervise and coordinate team and travel SO% of the time
Candidate must have good computer skills.
