General Description of the Role
The WASH Project Manager will manage GOAL'S water, sanitation & hygiene (WASH) programme, and develop technical staff in the environment and engineering fields in order to achieve GOAL'S programme objectives. He/she will be responsible for the development and training of the WASH team, support the team members in the design and review of WASH promotion materials/methodologies in line with CLTS approach, carry out the general administration function of the project, liaise with other stakeholders within the district and ensure a motivated team is maintained.

• Holder of a technical undergraduate degree, preferably Civil or Structural Engineering
• Four years' experience or working in an NGO or similar WASH environment
• Working knowledge and experience in using CLTS (Community Led Total Sanitation) approach.
• Excellent communication, computer and report writing skills
• Experience of management and training of staff
• Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills to plan projects, timetable agreed activities, manage a budget and oversee staff activities
• Ability and willingness to live in a remote, insecure location, within security procedures
• Good team player, flexible and capable of adapting to a recovering, rural community environment
Desirable
• Experience of other hygiene sanitation participatory approaches like PHAST
• Demonstrated technical design skills, using Water CAD and Arc View GIS
• Msc in Water and Environment Management, Water Management, Water and Waste engineering or similar
