An applicant should be a holder of PhD degree in the relevant field or equivalent in any of the following areas: History of Education, Philosophy of Education, Comparative and Contemporary issues in Education, Sociology of Education. They must also have a minimum of ten (10) years’ teaching experience, three (3)of which must be at Associate Professor level. They must have supervised at least three (3) PhD and five (5) Masters students, at least six (6) publications in refereed journals or 3 publications in refereed journals and 3 chapters in scholarly books since the last promotion.
The successful candidates will be expected to teach and supervise at both undergraduate and postgraduate students. They will also be expected to conduct and supervise research in their areas of specialization and participate in curriculum development among other administrative duties.
PROFESSOR, DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCE (1 POST) AC/6/272/11

An applicant should be a holder of Ph. D. in Management Science in the following units:- Operations Management, Operations Research and Decision Sciences, Supply Chain Management , Management Information Systems or equivalent. They must also have a minimum of ten (10) years’ teaching experience, three (3) of which must be at Associate Professor level. Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering specializing in any of the following disciplines:- Computer Architecture, Computer Communication Networks, Distributed Computing Systems, Theory of Computation, Information Systems, Database Management Systems, Intelligent Systems, Natural Language Processing, Image Processing and Signal Processing. from a recognized university. They must have at least eight (8) years’ teaching experience at both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, three(3)of which must be at Senior Lecturer level. They must have supervised at least two (2) PhD students and three (3) Masters students to completion. Applicants must have at least five (5) publications in refereed journals or three (3) publications and two (2) chapters in scholarly books since the last promotion.

SENIOR LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY & ARCHEOLOGY - AC/6/274/11– 1 POST- (R&T)
Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in either of the following disciplines:- History, Archeology or Armed Conflict and Peace Studies from a recognized university. They should have at least five (5) years teaching experience at both undergraduate and post graduate degree levels and must have supervised at least three (3) Masters Students to completion. They must have experience in research as evidenced by publications in refereed journals. In addition, they should have at least four (4) publications in refereed journals or two (2) publications in refereed journals and two (2) chapters in scholarly books since last promotion.
The successful candidates will be expected to teach and supervise at both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake research in their areas of specialization.
LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF LITERATURE- 3 POSTS- AC/6/275/11- (CHSS)
Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Literature from a recognized university. Those who possess a Masters degree in relevant field and have at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level and are registered for a PhD degree will also be considered. In both cases, they should have research experience, with at least two (2) publications in refereed journals or two chapters in scholarly books . They should show evidence of continuing research activity.
The successful candidates will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization.
ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE SECRETARY GRADE E, PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE, COLLEGE OF BIOLOGICAL & PHYSICAL SCIENCES-AD/6/276/11 - (1 POST) - (CBPS)
Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or KCE Div. III or an equivalent qualification with a credit in English Language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:-
- Business English III
- Commerce II
- Secretarial Duties II
- Office Management III
- Shorthand III (minimum 120 wpm) or Audio-Typewriting III
- Typewriting 50 wpm
They should have certificates in and be able to use Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Data Base Management packages and at least three (3) years experience as Senior Secretary Grade D or a comparable position of responsibility for this grade. They should have knowledge of Anti-virus Tools.
REGISTRY SUPERVISOR GRADE BC, ADMINSTRATION DIVISION-1 POST- AD/6/277/11- (R&T)
Applicants should be holders of a KCSE C or equivalent with credits in English and Mathematics or equivalent, CPS II or Diploma in Archives and Records Management or equivalent and computer literacy. They must have serve for at least three (3) years as Assistant Registry Supervisor Grade A/B or an equivalent post.
The successful candidate will be deployed in the General Registry of the Administration Division.
ASSISTANT SECRETARY GRADE A, HAEMATOLOGY& BLOOD TRANSFUSION UNIT, DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN PATHOLOGY-AD/6/278/11- 1 POST - (CHS)
Applicants should be holders of a KCSE Grade C or KCE III or its equivalent qualification with a Credit in English language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:-
- Business English II
- Commerce II
- Secretarial Duties II
- Office Management III
- Shorthand 80 wpm or Audio Typing III
- Typewriting 50 wpm
They must be computer literate.
DRIVER GRADE IV, OFFICE THE DEPUTY VICE- CHANCELLOR (STUDENTS AFFAIRS) - 1 POST –AD/6/279/11- (R&T)
Applicants should be holders of at least KCSE level of education or equivalent and a clean valid driving license classes ABCE and PSV, passed in Occupational Test Grade Ii, a certificate in First Aid. They must have at least three (3) years satisfactory previous driving experience at Grade III or equivalent , have a clean record of service and be able to work outside working hours.
JUNIOR TECHNOLOGIST GRADE IV, ANIMAL PRODUCTION- 2 POSTS -AD/6/280/11-(CAVS)
Applicants should be holders of a KCSE Mean Grade C or equivalent plus 5 years experience in laboratory feed analysis, preferably proximate analysis. Knowledge of use of GLC, Flame Photometer and AAS will be an added advantage.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in practical classes for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
SENIOR MESSENGER GRADE III, UNIVERSITY LIBRARY- 1 POST
-AD/6/281/11- (R&T)
Applicants must be holders of at least a KCSE certificate. They must have a good school leaving certificate and a good reference letter from current Section Head. They must be able to communicate fluently in both English and Kiswahili languages. They must have served as Messenger / Cleaner grade II or equivalent position for at least three (3) years. Those who lack KCSE certificate or equivalent but have at least ten (10) years experience as Messenger grade II will also be considered. They must have good public relations. They must be of high integrity, reliable, disciplined and committed to work.
The successful candidate will be expected to show outstanding merit and ability to handle highly classified information and work with minimum supervision. They will also be expected to work during odd hours and also during weekends.
DRIVER/ MECHANIC GRADE III, TRANSPORT SECTION-AD/6/282/11
- 1 POST- (R&T)
Applicants should be holders of at least KCSE level of education or equivalent qualification. They must have a clean valid driving license classes ABCE and PSV, passed in Occupational Test Grade III, certificate in First Aid and at least three (3) years satisfactory previous driving experience after obtaining license. They must also have passed suitability test.
Those who have Motor Vehicle Mechanics Trade Test III and at least five years experience as a Mechanic grade II will have an added advantage.
