The Ministry of East African Community (MINEAC) would like to recruit competentpermanent staff as follows:
Professional in Charge of Trade Negotiations
- Provide analysis and policy recommendations on Rwanda’s position/strategy regarding the negotiation of Rwanda’s regional and multilateral trade agreements negotiated as bloc/ EAC with consideration of national policies and programs;
- Advise on market opportunities available in the EAC;
- Provide analysis, advice and policy recommendations on trade negotiations and agreements, policies and strategic direction for enhancing market access and the competitiveness of Rwanda’s business community;
- Provide advice and support to government in developing a broad based network through which private and community sector groups can access and communicate with governments on trade issues and the implications of specific regional trade agenda outcomes;
- Provide input and participate when appropriate in trade disputes and investigations regarding Rwanda’s rights and obligations in the EAC;
- Represent the Ministry in different negotiations such as Tripartite Free Trade Area/COMESA-EAC-SADC; EAC-EC-EPAs negotiations Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) between EAC Partner States and USA, etc.;
- Follow up on the implementation of Council Decisions and Summit Directives;
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Minister or by the Permanent Secretary;
- Report all activities to the Director of Economic, Infrastructures and Productive Sector.
Qualifications
Masters Degree in Trade law, in Economics, International Trade or Bachelors Degree (A0) in Trade Law, Economics, International Trade and or any other related field with 2 years working experience.
