SPECIFIC TASKS:
1. To spearhead the project cycle management, project writing and project design/planning within the Food Security sector.
2. To continue the implementation of the C&D Food security program in Bor County.
3. To carry out participatory assessment of needs, identify issues affecting the smooth running of Food security program in Bor County, and beyond.
4. To collaborate with relevant authorities (e.g. Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Livestock/Fisheries) at the GOSS, State and County level, NGOs, civil society groups and addresses current and arising Food Security issues in the Bor County, and beyond.
5. To supervise the distribution of Agricultural/Fishery inputs to the target beneficiaries on regular basis.
6. To make quarterly plans for the program, according to the annual plan of action.
7. To help conduct appraisal for all Agric Extension workers and other support staff.
8. To order and distribute Agricultural inputs to the target beneficiaries.
9. To organize for all food security related trainings and workshops for Extension workers, contact farmers and the relevant line ministries.
10. To promote and strengthen community participation in civil society undertakings.
11. To recommend mechanisms of delivering sustainable, long-term capacity building interventions in the light of the prevailing situation in Bor areas.
12. To supervise the payment of salaries to Extension Workers (Agric).
13. To render timely reports to the office of C&D Program and Admin Coordinator.
14. To ensure the right custodian of all assets within Food security system, but generally, the responsibility of all organizational assets in the field falls under the direct management of Program Manager/Administrator.
15. To represent C&D in Agriculture forums, as well as other forums as deemed required by C&D management.
16. To carry out any other duties when assigned by the C&D Management.
1. Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum; Bachelors Degree in Agriculture or its equivalent
• a strong field background in Agriculture planning and management at the level of project officer, County Agric supervisor
• Diploma or certificate in Fisheries is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years working experience in the field of Food Security with reputable Institution, NGOs or firm, especially in the area of coordination, M&E, and program implementation/management.
• Experience in writing donor reports
• Good communication and facilitation skills
• Fluency in English, Arabic and other languages
• Working knowledge of computer especially Microsoft Excel, Microsoft word, power-point and internet

• Good analytical skills Must be able to meet tight deadlines
• Must be self motivated and able to work under minimum supervision
• Must be result oriented and a good team player.
• Willingness and ability to live and work in a very remote area(s)
3. Contract duration:
The duration of the Contract is only for six month.
