Consultancy services to provide HIV prevention training to adolescent girls and young women of 15-24 years in Nyagatare, Gatsibo and Kayonza Districts
Introduction and background
Health Unlimited (HU) works in 13 countries to support the poorest people in their efforts to achieve their right to health. Currently, HU is in a stage of transition and will soon become Health Poverty Action.
Health poverty Action in partnership with the Single Project Implementing Unit (SPIU) of Ministry of Health (MoH) is implementing SSF HIV Global Fund project in Nyagatare, Gatsibo and Kayonza District; the project aims to prevent HIV dissemination and targets young women of 15- 24 years.
Objective of the assignment
The main goal of this request for expression of interest is to recruit HIV prevention service provider firms or individuals; which will train peer educators on how to prevent HIV dissemination in Rwandan Community.
Scope of the consultancy services
The qualified firm or individual shall render the following services:
- Train People Living with HIV Aids (PLWHAs) on Family planning
- Train peer educators among PLWHAs in positive prevention strategies
- Train peer educators among young women to spread prevention messages both in and out of school
- Train peer educators among migrant workers on HIV prevention
- Conduct both pre and post tests and some qualitative sampling to validate the effectiveness of training.
- Provide assistance and propose solution for improving beneficiaries knowledge on HIV prevention
- Produce report after the training.
- Conduct ToT sessions for peer educators targeting youth and MARPs about correct and consistent condom use
Competences
Interested firm or individual must indicate their interest in providing HIV prevention services, and to qualify the interested firm or individual shall have a minimum of 3 years experience and capabilities in the field and shall provide a brief summary of proven working experience in training community on HIV prevention skills.
The interested firm or individual must provide client references and contacts for previous similar assignments. In addition to that a firm must provide concrete evidence that the key staffs have previous experience in HIV prevention domain.
Selection procedures
Health Poverty Action invites the eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the aforementioned services. Interested consultant must provide information that they are qualified to perform the services (Description of similar assignment undertaken in the past)
The consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out by the Government of Rwanda for selection and employment of consultant
