WWF, the global conservation organisation, is looking to fill a short-term position in its European Policy Office (WWF EPO) to work as Communications Manager for 6-month maternity leave cover 1 November 2011 to 30 April 2012
The post holder will shape strategic communications that contribute to WWF policy and advocacy priorities and ensure delivery of external and internal communication tools. The post holder will lead and manage the WWF EPO communications team consisting of three people and work in close cooperation with the WWF network and external audiences. The position reports directly to the director of WWF EPO.
The successful candidate will have:
- A university degree in communication, journalism or a related field;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- At least 5-7 years’ experience in working in reputation management and policy communications at EU level within a consultancy or in-house;
- Excellent knowledge of media relations at EU level, developing marketing communication materials, writing online content and developing social media campaigns/projects.
- Good knowledge of the EU institutions and political decision-making process.
- Previous experience of working with NGOs is an asset;
- Native English speaker essential; other languages are an advantage; and a
- Good experience in managing a team. Strong team player able to work effectively in a global network setting.
