Action Against Hunger- Canada is looking for experienced humanitarians, Canadian citizens or permanent residents, ready to work abroad, to extend our pool of available expatriates. Experience of 2 years in humanitarian field is necessary.
Action Against Hunger is an international humanitarian aid organisation providing immediate assistance and long-term relief to people suffering from the consequences of man-made and natural disasters. Action Against Hunger has been one of the leading organisations in the treatment of malnutrition since its creation in 1979, and has programs in over 45 countries around the world focusing on nutrition, food security, water & sanitation, and basic health.
Responsibilities
Develop a program plan, ensure smooth implementation for program or project tasks and activities that may include: - Construction or rehabilitation of water networks, gravity flow systems, wells or boreholes - Creation and training of management structures - Cholera prevention campaigns - Water treatment - Water trucking and emergency water supply - Carrying out of assessments and post-implementation monitoring - Geophysical analysis
Develop and ensure the use of appropriate techniques and materials for hygiene promotion and training
Manage the WASH team human resources and provide technical support, training and capacity building
Track the progress of activities, ensure the collecting of program indicators and provide on-time internal status reports and external donor reports
Participate in the development of new proposals and the Action Against Hunger annual country strategy
Vacant positions available at Coordinator and Program Manager levels.
