Responsibilities include:
- Provide technical input on project implementation to achieve health targets and goals
- Ensure that all project assistance is technically sound and appropriate for the local context
- Write and contribute to reports and other deliverables
- Liaise with the government of Mozambique and its Ministry of Health, stakeholders, and public and private sector counterparts
- Collaboratively implement a strategic, long-term programmatic vision
- Advanced degree in a relevant discipline preferred
- Minimum eight to 10 years of experience designing, implementing, and managing USAID or other donor-development programs
- Minimum three years of experience in sub-Saharan Africa required; experience in Mozambique preferred
- Strong ability and desire to work with the government of Mozambique and its Ministry of Health, international donors, and local partners to achieve program targets
- Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate technologies
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection and management, and knowledge sharing
- Demonstrated interest in building the capacity of local partners
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Strong speaking and writing skills in Portuguese and English
