Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) is a One Stop Agency of the Government of Tanzania established under the Tanzania Investment Act, No. 26 of 1997 to promote, co-ordinate and facilitate investments· into Tanzania. The general policies and guidelines to run the center are provided by the Board of Directors, while the authority to create and implement broad operational policies and guidelines to conduct the business of the center on day-to-day basis is vested to the Chief Executive Officer. The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) is looking for qualified, competent, dynamic and committed Tanzanian to fill the following vacancy:
Investment Promotion/Facilitation Officer - 1 Post
The successful candidate will participate in the development and execution of the investment promotion and facilitation activities, such as information dissemination and policy advocacy, within TIC, which are cost effective and can help to present a coherent impression of a country's attractiveness to investors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To prepare outward and inward business missions.
2. To promote Tanzania's local projects and investment opportunities in various international and local exhibitions.
3. To participate in international and local investment forums and workshops.
4. To prepare bankable projects profiles of Tanzanians seeking various forms of collaboration with foreign companies.
5. To conduct District investment and entrepreneurship Seminars in order to encourage Tanzanians to register their investment projects with TIC, so that they enjoy investment incentives.
6. To prepare regional investment Forums in cooperation with Regional leadership in order to promote investment opportunities available in the Regions.
7. To compile information and prepare various promotional materials such as brochures, booklets etc. to be used in different investment promotion activities in Tanzania and abroad
8. To collect information from government MDA's and disseminate to potential investors
9. To create a data base of local companies/projects seeking various forms of collaboration from abroad (such as JV, Market 'access, Technology transfer, Buy back arrangement, etc I
Qualifications:
To qualify for the above position candidates should possess:
I. At least a Bachelor Degree in Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning. A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
II. At least three years working experience in a relevant or related field.
Profile/Key Competencies:
I. Excellent communication skills along with the ability to develop and sustain effective teamwork.
II. High level management skills with advanced analytical skills combined with strong interpersonal skills.
III. Should be able to demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and ICT literate.
