Project title:The Next Generation Programme – Integrated Promotion of Nutrition, Growth & Development
Expected outputs:
- Successful integrated treatment of SAM & prevention of stunting from facility to community
- Increased KAP on healthy pregnancy and feeding practices through evidence-based social and behavior change communication during the ANC period
- Generate evidence and create enabling sub-national environment for delivery of innovative nutrition services
Specific tasks: The program manager is responsible for:
- Implementation of the activities foreseen by the project at regional level
- Coordination of project team and partners
- Maintaining and develop relation with local health authorities
- Ensuring timely project reports
- Actively collaborate to data collection, operational research, surveys and evidence generation activities
Main activities areas:
- Integrating services for chronic and severe acute malnutrition from community to Health Units
- Strengthening capacity of Community Health Workers to deliver nutrition services to prevent stunting across the lifecycle
- Improving availability collection, quality and analysis of monitoring data at district, facility and community level
- Increase awareness on birth preparedness, behaviour change promotion, awareness raising on appropriate feeding practices by addressing identified barriers through KAP survey on healthy nutrition and care behaviours
- Improving budgeting, planning and monitoring at regional and district level
- Generating evidence on integrated delivery at scale, and on an adapted SAM treatment protocol to informing policy and scale-up planning
- Piloting low-tech beneficiary-level feedback tool to collect information on service availability and quality

Required qualifications and experience
- Degree in Health Sciences (ex. Medicine, Biology) and possibly qualification (ex diploma or postgraduate) in Nutrition
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as Program Manager of developing project possibly on nutrition programs and particularly on chronic malnutrition
- Proven experience in designing and implementing a behaviour change communication (BCC) package, possibly in nutrition
- Proven experience in programming and implementing training
- Experience in conducting surveys, barrier analysis and KAP studies
- Languages: excellent English written and spoken; Kiswahili will be an advantage
- Good facilitation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Willing, able and interested to work as part of a team
