The Tanzania ElectricSupply Company (TANESCO) is focusing on increasing the outreach and service quality of its Energy products for Tanzanian people. Next to its current passion as a leading provider of electricity is to be more efficient customer focused utility for Tanzania and beyond. The Company has the largest electricity generation, transmission and distribution network in Tanzania. In order to reach its goals, the Company will, invest heavily in its generation, transmission and distribution network, its business systems and human capital. TANESCO now invites internal and external applicants who are self-motivated, honest, hardworking and committed individuals to fill the under-mentioned posts in Region and Power Plants.

POSITION; SECURITY OFFICERS ( 3 Posts)
Reporting to: Regional Manager/Plant Manager
Work Station: Kigoma Region, 60 MW Nyakato Plant (Mwanza) and New Pangani Hydro Systems (Hale and Nyumba Ya Mungu)
POSITION OBJECTIVE
To ensure security operations in the Region/Plant are maintained professionally with the aim of protecting Company assets, property, infrastructures and systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct all Internal Investigations on issues of theft, embezzlement, sabotage, labour unrest, dishonesty, all major electrocutions, etc as well as all sorts of crimes with a view of establishing causes, identifying culprits and the truth.
• Undertake all complaints and/or allegations and resolve raised by customers and the public in regards to security matters, corruption practices etc. in the regions and plants.
• Work hand in hand with all authorities, state organs, individuals to establish and maintain positive working relations.
• Keep records of all case files and exhibits for ease of reference and maintain close follow up to resolution.
• Patrol and supervise all Security Guards in the Region/Power Plants and all Security posts for maintenance of proper Security controls at all time.
• Assist the region/power plant in making adequate response to the information received through Whistle Blowers on relating to vandalism or threat to TANESCO infrastructure.
• Ensure proper Record Management is enhanced on issues related to security matters in the Region/Plant.
• Maintain a clear communication channel between Head Office and Region/Plant.
• Ensure Management of Security Contract in the Region/Plant is maintained accordingly.
• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• A University degree in Laws, Engineering, Materials Management, Social Science or its equivalentfrom recognized higher learning Institutions.
• A Certificate of training on Security, Intelligence, Crime, and Inspection related matters from reputable Security Training Institution.
• Minimum of three (3) working experience in the related field.
REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS:
