The Tanzania Standard (Newspapers) Limited is a limited liability company owned by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania. The company which publishes Tanzania's leading newspapers - Daily News, Sunday News, HabariLeo, HabariLeo Jumapili and SpotiLeo wishes to recruit suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacancies of Human Resources & Administrative Manager and Office Management Secretary.
1. Human Resources & Administrative Manager
Department : Human Resources & Administrative
Reports to : Managing Editor
Entry Qualifications:
Holder of MBA in Human Resources Management or Msc. Human Resources
Management. Public Administration or its equivalent from a recognized
institution. S/he must have at least 11 years relevant work experience, five
of which must have been in a senior managerial position. S/he must have
excellent computer skills and good interpersonal skills.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Fosters and builds a business-oriented culture, which recognizes superior service, teamwork, taking initiatives, empowerment and respect;
Fine-tunes the organization setup to ensure that the structure
supports the chosen strategic focus and direction;
Formulates and implements a Manpower Plan, which is consistent with the company's Business Plan;
From time to time reviews remuneration packages with the objective of attaining internal end external equity;
Implements performance management system that supports the business plan;
Prepares and implements a Training Plan and budget that enhances levels of staff performance;
Ensures that the Human Resource Management Information System produces the necessary reports for use in planning and control;
Ensures provision of cost-effective welfare services to employees;
Manages internal transport logistic requirements for all departments;
Manages the upkeep of office environment cleaning services, fumigation, electricity, water and sewerage in an efficient way to ensure all staff work in a healthy and safe environment;
Manages the company's security and outsourced security services at the Head Office and in the zones to ensure the company's property is well protected;
Conducts open performance review and appraisal of subordinates and gives feedback;
Liaises with trade union to ensure harmonized work relations
In consultation with the Managing Editor, develops individual objectives/targets and performance standards as part of the individual performance agreement;
Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the Managing
Editor
