POSITION; PROJECT TECHNICIAN, LAND
Location; Dar es Salaam
Reporting to; Housing development Officer, Land
Job Summary/Purpose
Responsible for the supervision and provision of housing technical services for Land acquisition, improvement and where possible titling to suit WAT-HST target groups
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Development and continuous review of unit procedure manual
b) Assist in developing land plans for acquisition and improvement
c) Work with relevant departments and clients in scouting for land acquisition
d) Assist in scouting market prices for land earmarked for acquisition
e) Work with intended groups in identifying land suitable for acquisition and improvement
f) Assists clients groups in solving relevant land related inquiries
g) Work with relevant authorities in land identification and verification before acquisition
h) Work with contracted surveyors during the land development process for Greenfields and already surveyed land
i) Work with intended groups in allocation of individual plots after land parceling and/or completion of house construction.
Knowledge and skills
a) Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying, Town Planning or relevant related fields
b) At least 2 years working experience in site supervision of multiple housing projects
c) Excellent computer knowledge on basic applications
d) Ability to work effectively with others and good organizational skills
e) Excellent oral and written communication skills in Kiswahili and English
f) Ability to work independently, often managing multiple and simultaneous tasks at varying levels of complexity and detail
g) Knowledge of Tanzanian land development regulations and experience working with local Statutory Institutions to secure permits.
