Mzumbe University is one of the leading public Universities in Tanzania and has experience of working on collaborative research projects with Universities from the UK, North America and Europe. We have secured funding for a new research project.

Project Title: Holding local leaders and local service provision to account: exploring the evolution of political institutions and poverty reduction in response to a local governance performance index (LGPI) in Tanzania

Post Title: Research Co-ordinator

Duty Station: Mzumbe University, Dar es Salaam Campus College


Reports to: Principal Investigator

Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Assisting the Researchers to implement the project.
• Organising seminars and workshops
• Working and communicating with a wide-range of stakeholders
• Co-ordinating data collection
• Assisting in the production of academic outputs

Experience and Qualifications required
• Holder of a Master’s degree in a relevant area (Social Sciences) from a recognized University;
• Minimum 1-2 years work experience in a Civil Society Organisation, University or Local Government
• Experience of undertaking research projects and producing high quality written outputs.


Tenure and remuneration
This is a one year contract renewable up to 3 years on satisfactory performance.
An attractive salary will be offered to the selected candidate.
