JOB TITLE:Membership Income Administrator
LOCATION: Geneva

REPORTS TO: IMD Manager and coordinator member-church relations
Objectives: 1. Support efforts to increase financial stewardship by WCC member churches 2. Process, record and acknowledge membership contributions, provide analysis, reports and statistics 3.Help coordinate fundraising for the WCC Assemblies
Specific responsibilities:
- Work closely together with the coordinator member-church relations in order to strengthen a coherent approach to engagement in the fellowship and financial responsibilities of member-churches.
- Support the implementation of the membership campaign to increase the financial stewardship and balanced sharing of financial responsibilities by WCC member churches.
- Support approaches to engage churches in their joint responsibility for the WCC as outlined in the WCC income development strategy.
- Engage members of the governing bodies in building awareness of member churches about their financial responsibility for the WCC.
- Ensure personal follow up communications with member churches and draft thank you letters for the General Secretary.
- Prepare communication materials to accompany mailings to the member churches about membership contributions, the membership calculation scheme and possibilities for options adapted to each context, including opportunities for mutual support of churches to meet their minimum contribution.
- Administer and maintain the WCC’s income monitoring system with regards to membership and assembly income, in close consultation with Finance staff. Process, record and acknowledge membership and assembly contributions.
- Provide user-friendly and up-to-date data on income to finance staff for management and cash-flow purposes.
- Analyse and report on membership contributions campaign statistics for various leadership and governing bodies committees and individual member churches.
- Help coordinate fundraising for WCC Assemblies.
- Any other task as requested by WCC leadership through the Manager.
Qualifications and special requirements: 1. University degree or comparable level of education in a relevant field 2. Good knowledge of churches in different parts of the world and experience in ecumenical relations 3. Strong experience in detailed financial work and maintenance of financial records 4. Excellent interpersonal and writing skills. 5. Ability to represent, interpret and communicate the WCC to donors and prospects and other WCC constituencies. 6. Excellent command of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other working languages of the WCC (French, German and Spanish) an asset. 7. Experience in working sensitively in multicultural and ecumenical settings.
