c. £50,000 + £3,520 London location allowance (if based in London)
London and Milton Keynes
This business-critical role will go a long way towards shaping the development of procurement system capability within the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). Defining and agreeing transactional procurement processes, then implementing them within the FCO Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment, will ultimately enable the FCO to enhance the efficiency of its corporate services.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Procurement Performance, you will take ownership of procurement systems and P2P processes and represent the FCO on cross-government initiatives led by the Cabinet Office. This key role, encompassing both policy and delivery includes the policy setting, design and ownership of P2P process, and to assume ‘intelligent client’ responsibility for systems implementation. Expect to work closely with the Corporate Service Centre in Milton Keynes with regard to back-office procurement processing activities, through to input into the specification of our ERP system.
The Person
Degree and ideally CIPS qualified, and familiar with procurement processes in an ERP solutions environment such as Oracle, you now want to develop broader managerial competences in stakeholder engagement and strategic thinking across a high profile landscape. Detailed technical knowledge of ERP systems is less important than a deep understanding of procurement processes and an ability to think incisively at systems level.
