Technical Assistant – Wash Based in Bugiri
The aim of the role is to lead water quality analysis of all the water points in the project area. This post primarily involves water quality monitoring to ensure improved access to potable water within the community.
Requirement:
Essential requirements
• The holder of this position should possess a Diploma in water Engineering/Civil Engineering/Public Health/Environmental Health or laboratory technology and a minimum of 3 years’ experience carrying out water quality tests OR a Bachelor’s degree in Water Engineering/ Civil Engineering/Public Health/Environmental Health science or a related field;
• Minimum of one year’s experience doing water quality tests;
• Must have a demonstrated experience carrying out water quality tests and implementing remedial actions;
• Demonstrated knowledge of WHO and National (GOU) Water quality standards.
Desirable requirements
• Experience in rural development Programs and activities;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Commitment to beneficiary accountability and humanitarian ethics;
• MUST have a valid motorbike riding permit;
• Ability to read and write to a high standard in English and demonstrated writing of technical reports;

Community Assistant – Wash Based in Bugiri
The post involves the promotion of improved access to potable water and sanitation and hygiene practices in the targeted rural communities in Bugiri and Namayingo districts. This will involve a structured process of participatory learning and dialogue with community groups. The post holder must be familiar with the PHAST, CHAST and CLTS approaches and committed to participatory, community based working that promotes long-term, sustainable change.

• Bachelors in Social Work & Social Administration/community development/community education/Public health/community sanitation and hygiene promotion or a closely related field;
• Three (3) years’ experience in an NGO set up;
• Demonstrated experience implementing CLTS, CHAST and PHAST methodologies;

Diploma or certificate in agriculture or its equivalent;
• At least 2 years’ experience of extension work in food security programming and other agricultural related activities in an
emergency/crisis recovery situation;
Knowledge of facilitating farmer field schools;
• Basic knowledge of VSLA concepts, principles and methodology; i • Good communication skills including good spoken and written
English and Local Ithur or Luo language;
• Good computer skills, good working knowledge of Microsoft excel and word;

Livelihoods Projects Officer x 2 Abim
General Description of the Role
The position holder will provide extension support mainly for the; production activities using the Agro-pastoral Farmer Field School approach for household consumption and for the local market in Abim, Lotuke and Morulem Sub-counties in Abim District. Working closely
with the Livelihoods Manager, the extension officer will ensure that : the project agricultural activities are implemented in line with best , agronomic practices emphasising the importance of maximising returns to beneficiary farmers, soil and environmental conservation.
Requirement:
Essential Requirements
• University degree or Diploma in Agribusiness or Rural Development or related disciplines with hands on experience in agricultural extension; !
• At least 4 years, experience in agricultural extension for small holder farmers particularly in an agro-pastoral context;
• Knowledge of Agro-pastoral Farmer Field School (APFS) and /or
• Farmer Field Schools (FFS) or having worked with either is a strong asset;
• Training and or strong understanding of the Sustainable Livelihoods Framework;
• Basic knowledge of VSLA concepts, principles and methodology;
• Proven skills in performance management and capacity building related to staff, institutions and communities; :-
• Strong management, project planning, organizational, supervisory, interpersonal, and communication skills;

Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Coordinator
General Description of both positions
Over the lifetime of the current strategic plan GOAL Uganda’s country programme has transitioned from separate emergency and development programmes to a cohesive country programme focusing on Health and Livelihoods. The centrally based country M&E team provides support and capacity for all GOAL’S programming in Uganda. The MEL Coordinator is responsible for all the country programme monitoring, evaluation and learning systems.
Specific Description of the Role
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator will be responsible for the following objectives:
• Coordinate the overall country monitoring systems
• Coordinate the overall country evaluation systems
• Coordinate the overall country learning systems
• Coordinate the overall country M&E Plan
• Manage the MEL team and be active member of the Senior Management Team.
Requirement:
Essential requirements:
• Degree.
• 10 years* work experience;
• 4+ year’s specific M&E Management experience in an INGO;
• International experience in an M&E position;
• Experience in at least two M&E design frameworks (Logical frameworks, Theory of Change, Outcome Mapping);
• Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Previous experience in the design, analysis and reporting of quantitative surveys;
• Previous experience in the design, analysis and reporting of Qualitative data;
• Strong analytical skills (use of analytical software at least one -SPSS, STATA, EPI INFO, ALTLAS IT, ARC-GIS, NIVIVO);
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken);
• Previous experience in the design and delivery of capacity building trainings in M&E;
• Ability to travel up to 50% from base.
