PSI seeks entrepreneurial, dynamic candidates with significant experience in managing large, donor-funded public health programs, particularly in the area of malaria, for the position of Chief of Party for an anticipated program to increase coverage and use of key life-saving malaria interventions in support of the DRC’s National Malaria Control Program. This position will be based in Kinshasa, DRC and will report to the Country Representative.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee the management and implementation of a large malaria project covering distribution of long-lasting insecticide treated nets, behavior change communications, facility and community level diagnosis and treatment • Serve as the donor’s main point of contact on the project • Lead and monitor the development of communication and annual work plans • Assist in design, implementation and oversight of research activities, working closely with research and marketing departments to assure research is driving an ‘evidence to action’ approach to social marketing activities • Develop and manage donor budgets • Coordinate and/or review donor reports • Oversee the management of sub-awardees as well as the training of consortium members • Manage partner relationships relevant to the project, including partnerships with local and international organizations • Develop strong relationship with government, NGO, donors and the private sector • Supervise a team of project staff and create professional development opportunities • Assist the Country Representative with other duties as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS: • Relevant post-graduate degree (MBA, MIA, MPH, etc.) in related field • 10+ years of demonstrated success in management of large, donor-funded public health programs in the developing world. • 5+ years of demonstrated success in implementing malaria programs in two or more developing countries with preference given to those with experience in DRC and/or other African countries • Demonstrated management and supervisory capability in leading large and complex field-based projects involving staff of diverse, multi-cultural backgrounds • Experience interacting with government agencies, host country governments and counterparts, and international donor agencies. • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and French • Ability to work efficiently and quickly in a fast paced environment • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
