During the past 16 years we have safely found, removed and destroyed millions of landmines, small and large bombs, missiles and other tools of armed conflict. By freeing up millions of acres of land we are the precursor to the development and economic growth of conflict-affected countries throughout the Middle East, South East Asia and Africa.
MAG's programme in Sudan has grown rapidly and we are undertaking a wide range of mine action initiatives across Eastern Sudan. We are now seeking a Logistics Manager to support our expanding operations.
This role will be working as part of a wider team on a specific project within the programme. Reporting to the senior manager responsible for the project, the postholder will plan, coordinate and monitor equipment purchases and deployments, build the capacity of national logistics and stores staff, and implement and maintain effective control systems for the resources used by in the project. The postholder will also ensure accurate and timely reporting and compliance with company and donor procedures. This role is based in Kassala and will require extensive travel throughout the region.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate experience in implementing and managing independent logistical controls to support the operational requirements of the project. The candidate should also have the ability to report on a timely and accurate basis both externally and internally to the organisation. You will also need previous experience of working in a developing country, preferably within the region and an understanding of the constraints this imposes.
This role is to start as soon as possible, which we anticipate to be one month from the date of offer due to visa processing times. The role will be offered subject to funding initially.
The salary for this position is £24,475 - £27,547 per annum plus an additional £2,000pa hardship allowance and per diem of circa US $12,000pa. MAG will also provide accommodation, three international leave flights per year, generous annual leave, two paid and funded one week ‘breather breaks' at a regional destination and insurance, amongst many other benefits.
