Hours : Full time (37.5 hours per week)
Base : Country in the MENA region (to be mutually agreed)
ARTICLE 19 is seeking to engage a Legal Consultant who will be responsible for ensuring it is able to play an enhanced role in promoting the rights to freedom of expression and freedom of information by developing an enabling legal and policy environment in the MENA region. You will as a minimum hold a law degree with some specialisation in international human rights law and/or media law, and have experience of working in the MENA region on legal and policy matters covering such issues. Fluent in both English and Arabic, spoken and written proficiency in French would be a distinct advantage. Familiarity with strategic planning, fundraising and project management with the ability to work independently and as part of a team are also essential. You will in addition, already have the right to work in the MENA country where you are based.
