The position of Chief Financial Officer is a strategic new position reporting to the Vice-Chancellor. As a member of the Senior Management Team, he/she will provide strong financial and operational leadership to support the sustainable growth and development of the University.
In this key senior managerial role, you will have:
- Strategic financial and operational leadership. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will work with senior colleagues to develop, execute and support the University's strategic plan in a rapidly changing and competitive environment.
- Overall responsibility for all aspects of Finance, Estates and Facilities, as well as related other support functions and commercial operations.
- Leadership of the University's revenue generating strategies, strategic financial planning and capital investment, financial aspects of risk management as well as strategies to optimise the effective and efficient utilisation of resources and processes.
- The ability to develop productive and sustainable working relationships with key external partners and stakeholders.
An experienced finance professional, you will:
- Possess strong leadership skills and demonstrate the ability to successfully manage at a senior level in a large and complex organisation.
- Be a qualified Accountant, of graduate calibre with sharp intellect and an outstanding track record of senior financial leadership. Energetic, innovative and entrepreneurial, you must be able to identify and manage the risk of new commercial opportunities for the benefit of the University.
- Be a first class negotiator, with excellent interpersonal as well as strong communication and analytical skills. Possessing sound judgement, you will have an engaging and collaborative style.
- Identify and have empathy with the values and objectives of the University and Higher Education.
