KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Responsible for the metallurgical accounting and associated record keeping.
• Ensure effective operating systems and associated procedures are defined to maximize recovery, copper concentrate grade and gravity recovery.
• Ensure the metal accounting and reconciliation process is robust, well documented, and the process is followed to ensure SOX compliance.
• Ensure effective security standards and systems are in place to minimize risk of product loss within the Process Plant. This includes creating a high security awareness and ensuring and security breeches are dealt with maximum severity.
• Ensure Cyanide Code Compliance standards are maintained within the operation.
• Ensure skills are in place to provide effective metallurgical support for the operation
• Ensure the assay laboratory is operated to support the requirements of the site. This includes quality analysis on process, mine and geological samples.
• Ensure the metallurgical laboratory is operated to provide the operational controls. This includes concentrate sampling and sample management, PSI calibrations, Courier calibrations, and other circuit performance checks,
• Ensure the Supply department is advised of correct reagents to be maintained in stock, complete with expected annual consumptions.
• Ensure the reagent inventory is monitored and ensure the adequate inventory is maintained to support the operation.
• Ensure mill liner wear is effectively monitored and information is provided to the Operations Superintendent to schedule and perform liner changes.
• Identify Capital projects which can add value to the business, and then support the implementation of such projects to ensure successful improvements.
• Ensure the Tailings dam is operated as per the engineered and approved design to minimize environmental risks.
• Ensure the annual budgeted recovery, concentrate grade and gravity recovery are achieved, and the reagent budget is managed.
• Responsible to fill the Process Manager position when the Process Manager is not on site.
• Develop Tanzanian metallurgical skills through mentoring and documented Personal Development Programs to provide successful localization and succession planning
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years experience in Process Plant Operations.
Minimum of 5 years experience at a Metallurgical Superintendent level.
Experience in sulphide flotation.
Experience in gold Carbon In Leach.
