Additionally, the Technical Director will provide essential support to the Chief of Party in managing and supervising the entire program implementation activities of project staff and project partners and will play a key role in managing technical, administrative and financial inputs to achieve the project objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in supervising the planning and implementation of all project activities, ensuring that all activities are properly and timely performed and that outputs are accomplished and delivered according to the agreed work plans;
- Oversee project implementation in target communities in Kenya and coordinate with other program partners and stakeholders;
- With the Chief of Party, provide overall technical oversight for all work and activities necessary to achieve the project planned objectives, outputs, and deliverables;
- In collaboration with the Chief of Party, monitor and evaluate project activities, interventions, impact and implemented sustainability measures;
- Liaise and advocate with other partners and relevant stakeholders regarding the project activities and policies and contribute toward fitting these policies and interventions; trouble shooting problem solving;
- Provide technical supervision and assign technical responsibilities as needed for the project staff and relevant project partners;
- Help in documenting all project activities, tasks, achievements and success stories; and
- Report to the Chief of Party on all technical, administrative and financial activities and relevant issues.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience designing, implementing and managing HIV/AIDS education or youth behavior change projects;
- Extensive experience implementing programs that address HIV/AIDS attitudes and practices, behavior change, community mobilization, youth friendly services, parent-child communication and community based service provision;
- HIV/AIDS prevention, community mobilization, economic strengthening, child protection, and HIV/AIDS and education policy and advocacy;
- Familiarity with Government HIV/AIDS, education, and OVC policies, strategies, plans and current/past programming;
- A Master’s degree or higher in Education, Public Health, Social Work, or related field;
- Strong management, written, interpersonal oral communication skills; and
- experience in project management processes, particularly relevant development projects.
