SCIS provides faculty with a regionally competitive salary (about 1,500-2,500 US dollars net), 10% retirement contribution, comprehensive health and medical coverage, extension of contract bonus, roundtrip airfare from country of origin, reduced tuition for children, and free housing and maid services.
Faculty carry small student loads (fewer than 80 students), about 20-25 hours of instructional time per week, small intimate class size (16-25 students), and ample opportunities for curricular and instructional creativity. The school suffers none of the behavioral and safety issues common in urban public schools in the US and Europe.

St. Constantine International School seeks highly qualified, passionate teachers to be part of the school’s instructional team.
We are specifically interested in candidates with graduate degrees in education and appropriate field(s) of specialty, avid interest and knowledge of experiential education, life or academic experiences in international settings (e.g. travel, study or living abroad), interdisciplinary training or interests, and a commitment to rigorous progressive-constructivist educational practices.
Intellectual curiosity, an uncompromising commitment to diversity, the capacity to work in teams and be a school leader, and to professional excellence, is requisites.
Bilingual proficiency (English/Swahili), experience with multi-age level and differentiated instructional practices, and ability to teach AP or College level equivalent courses (for Upper School faculty) is highly desirable, but not required.
Because the faculty is intimately involved in all aspects of building a school community, we are interested in teachers who are leaders and creative risk takers, and who do not fear the extra responsibilities that come with building a school.
This is an extraordinary opportunity to acquire curriculum development and leadership skills and be co-architects of all aspects of a school’s function.
Faculty will be expected to, in addition to their core subject or grade level assignments, become involved in the afterschool fitness program, teach an enrichment elective, and/or participate in extensive experiential/travel components that, for the Middle and Upper School programs, includes may include a month long themed mini-semester that uses Tanzania as a learning classroom.
