MDH (Management and Development for Health), a newly launched NGO for the treatment of patients with HIV/AIDS, is looking for competent persons to fill the following positions;

1. LABORATORY SERVICE MANAGER

2. SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

3. MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH COORDINATOR

1. LABORATORY SERVICE MANAGER (1)

This position reports to the Director of Programs
Duties and Responsibilities.

• The LSM is responsible for ensuring that MDH supported sites meet national standard for laboratory practice required to support the HIV care and treatment program including TB/HIV, and PMTCT by identifying training needs, organize trainings and develop mentorship program for site level lab personnel.

• Ensuring good quality clinical laboratory testing in MDH supported private and public sites by providing ongoing assessments of Laboratory Quality system, ensuring proper utilization of manuals and guidelines and ensuring availability and proper functioning of reagents and lab equipment.

• Play leadership role in provision of technical assistance for the selected labs for accreditation and make sure systems are in place to reach the 2014 national target to accredit 44 district laboratories.

• Play key role in the development of proposals, budgets, work-plans and reports related to MDH’s Laboratory services support activities.

• Actively participate and advise management in solicitation and writing of proposals for new grants/business development focusing on strategies to improve capacity of district labs and lower level facility labs to improve capacity and laboratory systems.

• Identify priority questions for operational research and carry out OR of innovative strategies for strengthening laboratory activities to improve quality of clinical care.




Requirements.

• Education:

o A master degree in laboratory science while a PhD in laboratory science is an asset



• Experience

o 10 years of experience working in provision of laboratory service.

o Working for HIV care and treatment including TB/HIV will be an added advantage

o At least five years of proven experience in HIV-project management in the design, administration, management and implementation of international health programs in developing countries, including supervision, and reporting.

o Proven experience in the development of QA/QC tools for laboratory, in the writing of abstracts, proposals and reports and in carrying out advanced laboratory service didactic and practical trainings.

o At least five years of work experience in Africa, preferably in Tanzania.

• Skills:

o Excellent written and oral communication in Kiswahili and English

o Good knowledge in computer soft ware applications such as MS Word, Excel, and the Internet.

o Ability to work under pressure and timely meet dealines

o Ability to plan, develop and work both independently and as part of a team.

2. SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR (SCMC) (1)

This position reports to the Director of Programs
Duties and Responsibilities.

• The SCMC is responsible for ensuring that MDH supported sites meet national standard for ARV and related commodity supply chain management by giving support to site and district pharmacists, ensureing theat staff are trained, ensuring the availability and proper use of validated drug management tools,



designing improved supply chain system, processes, and procedures for MDH sites and facilitating trainings and mentorship programs improved supply chair system, processes and procedures for MDH sites and facilitating trainings and mentorship programs.

• Ensures uninterrupted supply in HIV-related commondities at all MDH-supported sites by forecasting, budgeting, ordering, ensuring buffer stock, keeping track of drug flow from store to sites, maintaining drug and reagent inventories, and making sure all dispensing rooms have correct infrastructure that functions well.

• Play key role in the development of proposals, budgets, work plans and reports related to MDH’s activities concerning pharmaceuticals and drugs commodities management.

• Facilitate preparation of all required reports in a timely manner and disseminate them accordingly.

• Actively participate and advise management in solicitation and writing of proposals for new grants/business development.

• Identify questions for operational research and actively lead OR to demonstrate best practices in ARVs and related commodities supply chain system management.

• Actively perform supportive supervisions to MDH supported sites, and use these supervisions to strengthen their capacity on issues related to supply chain management.

Requirements:

• Education:

o Senior pharmacist with degree/diploma in pharmancy

o Public Health background is an asset

• Experience:

o 3 years of experience in Health commodities management within public and private sector (forecasting, procurement, distribution and monitoring);

o 2 years experience previous work in HIV/AIDS prevention of Care and Treatment program or projects.

o In-depth understanding/knowledge of national and international drugs/ARV policy and procurement issues an advantage.

o Experience in health program management as team member or other position, a strong advantage.



3. MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH COORDINATOR (MCHC) (1)

This position reports to the Director of Programs
Duties and Responsibilities.

• The MCHC is responsible for ensuring that MDH supported sites meets national standard fro PMTCT, Pediatric care and Maternal health improvement initiatives through implementation of different planned activities.

• Ensures that MDH supported sites implement intergrated and comprehensive package of PMTCT, and paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment services at all levels through various activities.

• Play key role in the development of proposals, budgets, work plans and reports related to MDH’s Maternal and Child health indlucing PMTCT, EID and pediatric care and treatment activities.

• Play key role in the development of proposals, budgets, work plans and reports related to MDH’s maternal and Child health including PMTCT, EID and pediatric care and treatment activities

• Prepare quarterly, semiannually and annually narrative reportes to be submitted to key stakeholders.

• Actively participate and advise management in solicitation and writing of proposals for new grants/business development on maternal and child health improvement initiatives.

• Identify priority questions for operational research and carry out OR to guide on best practices in program implementation

• Conduct various trainings related to maternal and health improving initiatives including PMTCT, EID, and pediatric care and treatment.

Requirements.

• Education:

o Medical Doctor Degree

o Master’s in Public Health is an asset

• Experience:

o 3years of experience working HIV prevention preferablyPMTCT and EID programs



o At least five years of proven experience in HIV-project management in the design, administration, management and implementation of international healf programs in developing countries, including supervision, M&E and reporting

o Proven experience in the development of quality improvement tools for PMTCT and pediatric care and treatment.

o Proven experience in the writing of abstracts, proposals and reports

o Experience in implementation of the maternal and child health improvement programs

o At least five years of work experience in Africa, preferably in Tanzania.

• Skills:

o Excellent written and oral communication

o Fluency in English as working language

o Good knowledge in computer soft ware applications such as MS Word, Excel, and the Internet.

o Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, plan and conduct PMTCT and EID trainings.
