Director General (Customs & Trade)

The Director General (Customs and Trade) will provide Strategic leadership in the process of developing, formulating, coordinating and facilitating implementation of Customs and Trade activities of the Community as stipulated in the EAC Treaty on matters related to development of EAC’s overall Development strategy and Corporate strategic plans and advise the Community on the policy issues of Customs and Trade.
Registrar

The Registrar, EAC Competition Authority shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the EAC Competition Authority and be responsible for the day to day management of the EAC Competition Authority subject to the directives of the Board of Commissioners.
Deputy Registrar, Monopolies & Cartels
(REF: EAC/HR/2015-2016/005)
Job Purpose:
Deputize the Registrar, EAC Competition Authority in matters related to Monopolies and Cartels.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Registrar, the Deputy Registrar, Monopolies and Cartels shall perform the following functions:
Manage the operations of the Directorate in liaison with the Registrar;
Develop policies and guidelines on Monopolies and Cartels in the EAC;
Investigate/monitor anti-competitive trade or restrictive business practices that have the effect of prevention, restriction and distortion of competition in the EAC;
Principal Civil Aviation Officer

Job Purpose:
To coordinate harmonisation and implementation of projects and programmes related to civil aviation and airport sub sectors in the Community.
Risk Management Coordinator
(REF: EAC/HR/2016-17/17)
Job Purpose:
To provide technical assistance on risk management for the assigned Departments/areas of the EAC Organs and Institutions and come up with the risk registers that will be updated time to time.
Senior Conference Officer
(REF: EAC/HR/2015-2016/005)
Job Purpose:
To provide efficient and effective conference management services.
Internal Auditor
(REF: EAC/HR/2016-17/21)
Job Purpose:
To conduct independent risk-based internal audits of the EAC Organs and Institutions projects and programmes so as to identify any weaknesses and in consultation with the auditor-in-charge propose recommendations for improvement.
Education Qualifications and Relevant Working Experience:
Education Qualifications
All candidates applying must have qualifications that are recognized by the relevant national accreditation body in their respective Partner State.
This condition is applicable for locally and internationally attained qualifications. All professions that require registration with the specific professional bodies will be expected to do so in compliance with the requirements of their respective Partner States.
Relevant Working Experience
Internship, training and apprenticeship will not be considered as relevant work experience.
Eligibility:
Applicants from all Six Partner States are eligible to apply for the position.
Terms and Conditions of Service:
The position is tenable for a contract of five (5) years renewable once and is subject to the application of the EAC Quota System.
