Deloitte Tanzania has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join our USAID Boresha Afya project in the role of Project Management and Statistics Coordinator for our office in Dar es Salaam.
Deloitte Tanzania in partnership with FHI360, Engender Health and Management and Development for Health (MDH) is responsible for implementing USAID Boresha Afya Program. USAID Boresha Afya is a five-year program (October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2021) funded by the American People through USAID aiming to support the Government of Tanzania (GoT) to increase access to high quality, comprehensive and integrated health services, especially for women and youth, with a focus on maternal, neonatal, child and reproductive health and nutrition outcomes. Emphasis is on comprehensive and integrated health service delivery for preventative and curative services with regard to HIV/AIDS, Family Planning (FP), Tuberculosis (TB), Malaria, Nutrition and Maternal and Child Health (MCH). Deloitte Consulting Limited will implement the program in the Southern Zone that covers the geographic area of Njombe, Iringa, Ruvuma, Morogoro, Lindi and Mtwara.
Broad Function
The Project Management and Statistics Coordinator will support the Results Management Office in project management activities and related statistical analysis.
This position will report to the Results Management Office Director.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
- Perform statistical analysis, reviews and track fiscals of the project;
- Review and analyse administrative reports and plans for the project;
- Identify relationships and trends in data, as well as any factors that could affect the results;
- Prepare and compile monthly, quarterly and annual project plans and reports;
- Review and develop project forms and report formats;
- Gather qualitative and quantitative data of the projects performance and use spot trends to make predictions of future performance;
- Establish and maintain program records, project budgets and contracts and other documentation;
- Evaluate the statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data in order to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency and accuracy;
- Support risk management processes and reporting at the work stream level;
- Conduct regular risk reviews and spot checks;
- Communicate with project members on any new developments in a project's status;
- Organize project meetings for data analysis and interpretation;
- Update project schedules and ensure that all necessary parties are aware of project deadlines;
- Prepare project work flow procedures and track quality of output;
- Prepare project presentations;
- Adapt statistical methods in order to solve project specific problems in the field of work;
- Work with the Monitoring & Evaluation Manager/Analytics to analyse and interpret statistical data in order to identify significant differences in relationships among sources of information;
- Evaluate sources of information in order to determine any limitations in terms of reliability or usability;
- Design research areas within the project that apply valid scientific techniques and utilize information obtained from baselines or historical data in order to structure uncompromised and efficient analysis;
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Project Management with Statistics, Information Technology or other related field;
- An MBA is an added advantage.
Other relevant Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years working experience in a large donor-funded health program;
- Experience with an International NGO or donor funded Program operating in the field of HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria or related public health organisation will be an added advantage;
