Job Title: Local Rights Program (LRP) Coordinator
Work Station: Mafia - LRP.

Job Role:
The key objective of this position is to coordinate the development of the LRP strategy, annual plans and projects and their implementation to ensure interventions bring positive impact in the lives of people living in poverty, mobilize and organize communities and work closely with Community Based Organizations, local partners and stakeholders, identify local development issues for policy advocacy and manage human and financial resources of the LRP. The coordinator will also represent the organization in local engagements with other entities.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate the development and implementation of the LRP strategy, annual plan and budget and ensure their alignment with the CSP
• Coordinate the implementation of Stop Violence Against Girls in School (SVAGS) project
• Mobilize, concientize/empower and organize people living in poverty to engage in local level advocacy and demanding their rights
• Identify and initiate local partners and community based organizations and develop their capacity
• Initiate and nurture local partnership forums and networks for enhanced local sharing of experiences and local level solidarity and advocacy
• Engage with local governments in the implementation of the LRP strategy and annual plans
• Take active part in other program development processes of the organization as required by the line manager
• Track program progress by ensuring monitoring is done continuously and reports shared to line manager and other concerned staff
• Organize Participatory Review and Reflection (PRRP) sessions with communities and partners to gauge progress/change and draw lessons for future planning
• Organize mid-terms and end term evaluations to programs and projects
• Prepare and share performance reports (program and financial performance) of the LRP for learning and submit it to line manager and concerned staff and also share to local partners
• Prepare the LRP’s annual and three years budgets as per the organization’s guidelines
• Ensure approved budgets are utilized properly and timely
• Ensure value for money is maintained in all expenditures
• Prepare financial reports and ensure their timely submission to finance department and other relevant sections
• Manage the human resources of the LRP
• Enhance team spirit and culture among the LRP staff
• Ensure formal performance reviews / appraisals are done twice a year
• Ensure training needs are identified to all staff and shared to HROD and make a follow up on how identified needs are responded
• Induct all new staff
• Coach staff on various program activities and financial management
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the line manager
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Development studies in any relevant social Sciences Discipline from a recognized institution

• Governance, Civic empowerment and accountability
• Monitoring and evaluation
• At least 3 years minimum working experience in social development fields.
