Program Assistant Africa Programs
The Program Assistant Africa Programs will be responsible for dedicated duties in support of the Africa Program to include: quick research, reporting, compiling preliminary information for monthly reports, assistance with expense reports, logistics and meetings coordination. Additional responsibilities: power point presentations, document maintenance, filing and general program operational support in coordination with daily program needs. This position reports to the Director Africa Programs.
THE POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct document searches and research.
- Assist in responding to information requests.
- Draft and oversee production of funder reports, including capturing and documenting technical assistance provided.
- Work independently or with other units to produce key documents to support the needs of the AFRO team, including formatting, proof reading, and preparing presentation materials.
- Assist with other administrative tasks, such as logistics and events building, assembling briefing materials, note recording, as well as supporting the administrative flow process of grants.
THE POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree required; Masters of Public Health preferred.
- Familiarity/ 1-3 years of experience with public health policy advocacy preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including editing and proofing with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to take initiative, solve problems creatively and work independently
- Detail oriented and flexible.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while juggling multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience working at the international level and in cross-cultural settings a plus.
- Fluency in English required and the ability to speak and understand French desirable.
