Purpose of Job
The British Council invites expressions of interest from senior arts professionals and consultants to undertake a scoping of the arts scene in East Africa. The consultancies are divided into three main areas; music, visual arts, and creative industries & digital. We invite expressions of interest from consultants interested in undertaking the scoping in one or more of these sectors.
Context and Environment
We are looking for charismatic and highly experienced arts professionals with significant experience in developing arts programmes. They should have the ability to develop programmes which are responsive to local context, and have an interest in developing connections between the UK and East Africa. The person/people recruited for the role(s) will be expected to work with the arts teams in East Africa and the UK to help develop thinking and direction for the arts programme considering audiences, partnerships, context, and points of engagement for the UK. The person undertaking the role will be expected to spend some time in East Africa during the consultancy.
