Continuous Improvement Manager
The position will be reporting to the Operations Director and will be accountable for developing, implementing and driving continuous improvement strategy, practices and culture within Kilombero with the objective of improving business performance.
Duties and Accountabilities;
Assessment of Continuous Improvement (Cl) initiatives against impact on business performance and profitability.
Facilitate a Cl culture whereby opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement are identified.
Analysis of business processes in industrial and agricultural operations to identify business improvement opportunities.
Provide advice. training and guidance to all levels of employees on Cl strategy, methodology and tools.
Provides specialist advice and recommendations to all levels of management and local Cl steering committee.
Accountable for the coordination, reporting and communication of Cl programmes and related benefits at Kilombero.
Plays a crucial leadership role in persistently motivating and influencing all levels of management to foster and grow a Cl culture within the business.
Liaison and engagement with Cl consultants when necessary and ensure coordinated, aligned and structured approach at Kilombero.
BSc (Engineering or Related Descipline)
At least 5 years proven management experience in a manufacturing/production environment
Good interactive skills, confident and self assured with ability to engage with all levels of management
Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
Proven business/commercial acumen with broad understanding of a manufacturing operating environment.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Six sigma Green Belt accreditation advantageous.
Organizational and time management skills.
Project management skills.
Highly developed facilitation and presentation skills.
Sound leadership and management skills with change management experience.
Innovative, intuitive with ability to anticipate, interpret and unravel complex issues impacting on the business.
Committed team player that is able to participate, and contribute within a team environment.
Strong ability to influence, inspire and motivate people.
Proficiency in MS Office programmes.
