“Serengeti Wildlife Research Institute” (SWRI), with the overall responsibility of carrying out, coordinating and supervising all wildlife research in the country. The original name of the Institute was changed from SWRI to TAWIRI in 1999, by the Act of Parliament No.10, to give its broader meaning and mandate on wildlife research throughout the country.
16.1 PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTANT II – 1 POST 16.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise debt collection in liaison with departmental managers
• Oversee internal control system, accounting policies and procedures.
• Maintain all books of accounts and allied records.
• Prepare detailed duty roster for the staff in the respective sections and ensure smooth carrying out of duties.
• Co-ordinate the preparation of departmental budgets and monitor financial information systems.
• Perform any other duties assigned.
• Maintain all books of accounts and allied record including stock records.
• Ensure that all revenue of the institute is accounted for and is appropriately recorded.
• Prepare detailed duty roster for the staff in the respective sections and ensure smooth carrying out of duties.
• Co-ordinate the preparation of departmental budgets and monitor financial information systems.
• Provide technical and professional guidance and training to subordinates.
• To do any other duties as may be assigned.
16.1.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• CPA (T) Professional Certificate or its equivalent and registered by NBAA under
“associate” or “fellow” category.
• Three years working experience in the Public Service.
16.2 PRINCIPAL FIELD ATTENDANT – 1 POST
16.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To assist research assistant and laboratory technicians in carrying out their duties in the field and in laboratory in the implementation of agreed research activities.
16.2.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Secondary School education Certificate. • At least two (2) years work experience.
