Senior Financial Analyst

Background

The Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) is focusing on increasing the outreach and service quality of its Energy products for Tanzanian people. Next to its current passion as a leading provider of electricity is to be more efficient customer focused utility for Tanzania and beyond. The Company has the larqest electricity generation, transmission and distribution network in Tanzania. Reporting to:Chief Financial Officer

Division:Finance

Position Objective

Performs complex budgeting and accounting functions; conducts financial, statistical, and analytical studies; prepares and assists in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and weekly/Monthly statements for reimbursement according to prescribed guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Profitability Reporting and Analysis: preparing various quarterly and annual sales and profit reports using data collected from Business Units, regions and plants; preparing reports and analysingvariances.

Support Strategy Reviews by providing detail and summarized profitability reports and analysis.

Maintain financial, customer, product and other data used within the company complying with government and regulatory reporting requirements.

Liaison with ICT and other Financial Systems teams on profitability management's system requirements, user security and other maintenance.

Assist with the annual budget preparation, ensure prioritization, accountability, clarity on strategic projects, and buy-in by the stakeholders

Lead process improvements and standardization for data collections and reporting.

Process documentation for Profitability Management data collections/systems and user manuals. Provide indirect expenses analysis and support to finance management

Support various operating unit performance improvement plans.

Special financial assignments based on knowledge and/or experience.

Support strategic plan/operating plan monitoring and reporting process.

Maintain an effective process to monitor expenses, seek to improve forecasting, drive accountability & enable transparency.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution .

Possess relevant accounting or financial analysis professional qualification i.e. CPNACCNCIMNCFAMinimum of 3-5 years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience required.

Strong planning, organizational and problem solving skills.

Excellent written and communications skills; ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the company including with executives.

Solid understanding of managerial and accounting principles, as well as business standards for integrated financial analysis

Exceptional critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. Leverages technical knowledge and skills sets (market knowledge, business acumen, and lIhancial modeling skills) into effective I actionable analysis

Must be a person of unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character.

Must be Computer literate
