SC Rwanda Country Office seeks to hire a qualified, committed and experienced national to fill the position of Information Technology (IT) Officer. He/she will reports to the Human Resources and Administration Manager, and will be located in Kigali but with frequent travel to field Offices. This is a Grade 4 position.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for overseeing all information technology within the Rwanda Country Office and ensure high delivery of IT services that ensure the capture, storage and processing of data. This will include responding to IT support requests via the helpdesk email system, phone call or verbal reports, trouble shooting and performing assigned IT Projects.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To plan and implement all the activities related to information and technology in line with the SC Rwanda Country Office strategy.
• Manage the installation, configuration and monitoring procedures for the SC Rwanda Country Office Network connections
• Perform preventive maintenance on computers, laptops and printers, and advise staff of security breaches and/or changes in password or security status
• Respond to staff incident requests in a manner consistent with IT service level guidelines
• Maintain optimal functioning of Internet link, security and integrity of all operating systems and servers at all times
• Provide full support to managers as regards system requirements, specifications and costs, including preparation of software or hardware evaluations, and recommend improvements or upgrades.
• Ensure the country office has a data backup strategy that guarantees business continuity in case of disaster
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum degree in Computer Science or related field, with a minimum of five years' experience in a similar role within an INGO or private sector set-up.
• Familiarity with network infrastructure and operating systems and knowledge to operate most ICT and office equipment
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, taking into account cultural and language difficulties. Tact and diplomacy are essential.
• The ability to work closely in a team, patience, adaptable, flexible, ability to improvise and work in an environment that is often stressful plus willingness to travel regularly.

• Fluent in spoken and written English.
