PCI is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing disease, improving community health, and promoting sustainable development worldwide. PCI Tanzania is concluding the initial phase of Food for Education (FFE) three years program in Mara region. In partnership with Bunda and Musoma Rural District Councils, and with support from the United States Department of Agriculture
(USDA), PCI will implement an expanded, follow-on 3-year program (2013-2016).
This position will facilitate designing of program interventions and coordinate implementation of activities to promote health through school and community-based approaches including: establish school based health screening and evaluate effectiveness through operations research promote health, life skills, and hygiene promotion and strengthen capacity of partners and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Master degree or equivalent, MD, Master of Public Health/Nutrition/social sciences or other related field, RN, or RD desirable. Experience managing community health continuing education-'programs
5 years' experience in managing or providing technical support to community level public health and nutrition programming.
Strong understanding and up-to-date technical knowledge the field of public health and nutrition. Technical ability in designing or adapting public health and nutrition related curriculum and skills in training facilitation and training of trainers.
Demonstrated experience interacting with government officials and community-based stakeholders; excellent project management skills; Strong computer skills (MS Office);
Working knowledge of monitoring and evaluation procedures and processes.
Excellent English skills (verbal and written)
