PCI is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing disease, improving community health, and promoting sustainable development worldwide. PCI Tanzania is concluding the initial phase of Food for Education (FFE) three years program in Mara region. In partnership with Bunda and Musoma Rural District Councils, and with support from the United States Department of Agriculture
(USDA), PCI will implement an expanded, follow-on 3-year program (2013-2016).
This position will facilitate designing of program interventions and coordinate implementation
of activities to promote economic and social empowerment of vulnerable households through PCI's GROW savings and loan model including: identify most vulnerable households through participatory approaches and organize self-help groups; coordinate TOTs and trainings to disseminate GROW methodology to group level; provide ongoing technical support to self-help groups; build capacity of partners and stakeholders. To supervise GROW Community Mobilizers in implementation of activities at community level.
Qualifications and Experience
Masters in international development, business administration/management or economics or other related degree preferred' (or equivalent in field experience)
5 years' experience in managing or providing technical support to community-level savings and loans group programming. Experience implementing gender sensitive, socio-economic programming or managing economic development or livelihoods
programs
Strong understanding and up-to-date technical knowledge of best practices in the village savings and loan field. Technical ability in designing or village savings and loan related curriculum. Substantial experience using and including participatory approaches in program implementation, including facilitation skills (and training of trainers) Demonstrated experience interacting with government officials and community-based stakeholders; Excellent project management skills; Strong computer skills (MS Office); Working knowledge of monitoring and evaluation procedures and processes.
Excellent English skills verbal and written
