PCI is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing disease, improving community health, and promoting sustainable development worldwide. PCI Tanzania is concluding the initial phase of Food for Education (FFE) three years program in Mara region. In partnership with Bunda and Musoma Rural District Councils, and with support from the United States Department of Agriculture
(USDA), PCI will implement an expanded, follow-on 3-year program (2013-2016).
This position will facilitate designing of program interventions and coordinate implementation of activities to promote education quality and sustainable school feeding through agricultural approaches including establish school gardens using improved agricultural techniques develop partnerships with farmer groups strengthen capacity of partners and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Masters degree in agricultural science or agricultural economics (smallholder production, value chain development, and/or related natural resource management technical areas) 5 years experience in managing or providing technical support to agricultural production and marketing development programming.
Strong understanding and up-to-date technical knowledge the field of agricultural
Production and marketing. Technical ability in designing or adapting agricultural related curriculum and skills in training facilitation and training of trainers.
Demonstrated experience interacting with government officials and community-based stakeholders; excellent project management skills; Strong computer skills (MS Office).
Excellent English skills (verbal and written)
