10.1 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT – MARINE ENGINEERING-5 POSTS
10.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teaching up to NTA level 6.
• Assists in conducting tutorial and practical exercises for students under close supervision.
• Prepares learning resources for tutorial exercises
• Assists in conducting research under close supervision
• Carries out consultancy and community services under close supervision; and
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the head of the relevant department.
10.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma in Marine Engineering Technology with first or upper second class.
• Candidate with Certificate of competency as officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch will have an added advantage

10.5.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares learning resources for tutorial exercises
• Assists in conducting research under close supervision
• Carries out consultancy and community services under close supervision; and
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the head of the relevant department.
10.5.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• First class or second class of Bachelor of Science in Education with any of the following:- ICT, Economics and Statistics or Physics and Mathematics.
Or
• Bachelor of Business Administration, or Bachelor of Science in Shipping/Transport and Logistics.
10.5.3 REMUNERATION

10.6 TUTOR/INSTRUCTOR I – 1 POST
10.6.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Simulator Laboratory in Maritime Transport & Marine Engineering Departments
• Prepares and runs exercises at operational level
• Examines and assesses simulator training exercises.
• Prepares lessons and teaches ratings of a relevant watch (Engineering/Navigational watch).
• Assists in research and consultancy projects.
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the head of the relevant department.
Training Vessel in Maritime Transport Department
• Takes care of and maintains Navigational and Safety equipment on boardship.
• Acts as safety officer on board training vessel.
• Acts as deck officer on board training vessel.
• Takes care and maintains cargo-handling gear on board training vessel.
• Is responsible for management of deck stores on board training vessel.
• Supervises and examines deck cadet tasks.
• Prepares maintenance plan and budget for deck department.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Head of Department.
Training Vessel in Marine Engineering Department
• Takes care and maintains engineering plants equipment.
• Acts as Marine Engineer Officer on board training vessel.
• Is responsible for safety matters in the engine room.
• Participates in maintenance and service of ship machinery and equipment.
• Is responsible for management of Engineering stores and spare parts.
• Supervises and examines engineering cadet tasks.
• Prepares maintenance plan and budget for engine room department.
• Performs any other duties assigned by the Senior Instructor (Training vessel)
10.6.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Advanced Diploma in Maritime Transport and a Second Mate Certificate of Competency who have undergone a relevant Simulator Instructor Training;
Or
• Certificate of Competency as Second Mate on ships of 500-3000GT who has undergone training in Onboard Training and Examination Techniques and working experience of not less than 3 years as Officer in charge of Navigation Watch;
10.6.3 REMUNERATION

10.7 ASSISTANT LECTURER– MARITIME TRANSPORT -1 POST
10.7.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teaching up to NTA level 8 (Bachelors Degree).
• Conducts research, seminars and case studies.
• Prepares learning resources for tutorial exercises
• Carries out consultancy and Community Services under supervision
• Supervises students project
• Prepares teaching manual, and
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the head of the relevant department.
10.7.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Masters Degree in relevant field.
10.7.3 REMUNERATION
