Job Summary
Cardno Emerging Markets USA, Ltd. (Cardno) is currently seeking a Manager with technical expertise in Governance Practice Area for a position in our Arlington, VA office (located at Courthouse Metro on the Orange Line).
The Manager will design and manage a portfolio of projects in conflict and reconstruction, local government, government reforms and policy and/or land administration. The Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing teams in project management; developing and overseeing client/partner/consultant relationships; providing technical guidance in his or her areas of expertise, interact with internal support teams such as Finance Department and Contracts Department, and ensure that clients needs are met through delivery high quality services in a timely manner across the portfolio of contracts under the Manager’s responsibility.
The Manager is expected to quickly develop a solid understanding of internal systems and procedures and will also work to develop new, or improve on current, systems and tools relevant to the Governance practice area.
Key Responsibilities
- Master’s degree in International Relations, Public Administration, Public Finance or a related field required
- 6+ years experience successfully designing, implementing and managing international projects
- Prior work experience in national and local governance, conflict and reconstruction, national government reforms, or land administration.
- Proven experience successfully implementing activities in program evaluation and/or grants management.
- Detailed knowledge of and experience working with major international donor agencies (USAID experience preferred)
- Excellent analytical and writing skills with the ability to understand and respond to shifting client needs
- Ability to perform and prioritize a variety of tasks within assigned deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Must be willing to travel
- US work authorization required
