Do you have the skills, character and understanding to take on the exciting challenge of managing Tearfund’s operational work?
We are currently seeking an experienced senior manager to assist the Country Director in the leadership and management of Tearfund’s operational programme in Sudan, with responsibility for the successful design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects. The role will focus on Tearfund’s desire to see communities developed and disasters responded to.
Your responsibilities will include: supporting the Country Director in developing and implementing country strategy, ensuring field level understanding of the purpose and direction of projects, coordinating needs assessments, and overseeing programme budgets, funding & resources. You will have primary responsibility for the assessment, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programme activities; ensuring Tearfund’s Quality Standards are achieved within the programme and active involvement in grant management and proposals.
The post is based in Nyala, with over 70% travel within Darfur. Applicants must be prepared to live in potentially insecure conditions. Applicants must be committed to Tearfund’s Christian beliefs. All posts involve potential contact with children and the recruitment process will include specific checks related to child protection issues.
The role has 7 direct reports (4 Area Coordinators, 2 Sector Advisors and a Grants and Information Officer), represents Tearfund externally and has delegated responsibility for security management.
