Swaziland Communications Coordinator

Purpose

To provide coordination support to the implementation of communications activities for Male Circumcision Accelerated Saturation Initiative, Soka Uncobe.

Key Responsibilities

Scope of Work:

• Facilitate Male Circumcision Accelerated Saturation Initiative, Soka Uncobe, project partners’ communication strategies • Facilitate harmonization of communications strategy & operations with national, regional and community level partners • Consolidate and oversee Soka communication strategies • Coordinate Soka SBCC activities and ensure feedback to all partners, especially the Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland Social Behavior Change Communication Program Managers • Collect and present data to inform Soka communications programming • Support Male Circumcision Task Force in coordination of SBCC working group • Liaise with the Public Relations Officer, MC National Coordinator, other GKOS key personnel and Regional Coordinators, on the coordination and implementation of communication activities • Oversee development of written, contract-related documents and deliverables, and other information requests from USAID as it relates to the Soka communications strategy. • Coordinate and contribute to the process of writing, editing, and production of project deliverables, portfolio reviews, and technical reports, including facilitation of the technical review process and monitoring its documentation • Work closely with project and GKOS staff and technical writers to develop, review, edit, and revise appropriate materials and tools, including manuals, occasional papers, policy briefs, working papers, country reports, and any other technical documents • Through coordination with GKOS, identify procedures for dissemination and archival of project documents. • Oversee development and production of project-related communication materials (brochures, report covers, order forms, flyers, and other collateral materials)

Qualifications, Capabilities/Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training: • Educational level required: MA • Experience: minimum 10 years of experience in: field of HIV, Social Behavior Change Communication, Program Management, Budget Management, Coordination of multi-sectoral partners • Other: PhD is preferred • Demonstrated knowledge of stakeholder involvement across sectors • Knowledge of PEPFAR and USAID project implementation • Experience in capacity building and provision of technical assistance • Good communication skills in English (written and oral) • Ability to work independently and with a wide range of partners
